Learn About Our Story

January 26, 1997

Randolph Pregnancy Care Center was dedicated as a satellite of the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center with the help of passionate residents of Randolph County. The steering committee rented a house on Cox Street in Asheboro, expecting the location to be only temporary. It was home for the next 21 years! From the very beginning, women in unplanned pregnancies had a safe, inviting place to go to discuss their feelings and make decisions.

RPCC became an independent pregnancy center in 2001, ushering in a time of great executive directors who focused on Asheboro and Randolph County as a whole. More volunteers and more programs allowed RPCC to expand the number of women who were seen.

Launch of Worth

2013 was the beginning of the WORTH program, a youth program aimed at school students in 9th grade who were exploring their sexuality and identity. WORTH  helped students see their God-given value, using critical thinking skills and lots of dialogue to provide a safe venue where teens could assess the needs they really have, and healthy ways to meet them. It was a big hit with youth groups and students at the local high school.

Name Change

Recognizing that millennials value choices, the name change reminded them that they have the choice to decide, and YCR would provide accurate information about all their options. Knowledge is power, and staff were committed to educating clients.

The Move

2018 was the year of the new building! Finally moving from the rental on S. Cox St. to a house on Walker Street, the center is now preparing to expand services through the addition of free ultrasound screenings. Because the house is so much larger, ADA compliant, and suited to HIPAA compliance based on some structural elements, this move makes ministry expansion possible. More room for staff and medical personnel, additional client consultation rooms,  space designed for ultrasound screenings, and a location close to Asheboro High School and on the way to Randolph Community College - what more could we ask for?!

Ultrasound Screenings

In 2019, we began offering free ultrasound screenings. This service allows our nurses to access the viability of the pregnancy and to determine gestational age.
